Schools are separated by just 25 miles on I-75 in the Black Swamp region of NW Ohio. MAC Rivals. In the 1940s, the basketball teams used to share a peace pipe during halftime. That tradition has obviously ceased, but in 1980 a scaled down replica was designed and used as a traveling football rivalry trophy for their annual showdown. 30 years later, the trophy was retired after talks with the Native American community. Now, a generic bronze trophy is exchanged. (Both shown above)

It was created by the Air Force athletic director as a way to ensure the Falcons would play Army and Navy annually, who of course have been playing each other every season. It is named in honor of the US President, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the nation under the US Constitution.
The Trophy weighs 170 pounds, has three silver footballs each representing one of the academies, and displays the years each has won the trophy behind a silver figurine of the team mascot.
