Notes: Stanford students used an axe to execute a scarecrow wearing Cal blue and yellow at a pep rally in 1899. Cal students proceeded to steal the Axe and endure a police chase. In 1930, 21 Stanford students successfully raided Berkeley and stole back the Axe- this group is known as the Immortal 21 to Stanford fans; the 'Immoral 21' by Cal fans. Finally in 1933 the Axe became the traveling trophy for the annual football game.
The score is adjusted whenever Stanford reclaims the trophy due
to the controversial ending to the famous 1982 game.
