In our first of 8 computer simulated games between the current champion and other dominant champions of the BCS era, we have the 1998 Tennessee Vols attempting to give Jameis Winston his first loss.
1998 VOLS With the Peyton Manning era over, Tee Martin took over under center for the 1998 Vols. Coach Phil Fulmer led Tennessee to an undefeated regular season, an SEC Championship win over Mississippi State, and a BCS Championship over #2 Florida State (ironically). RB Jamal Lewis and WR Peerless Price were key offensive contributors, but the stingy defense seemed to always come up big in times of need. This team of destiny brought Rocky Top its 2nd National Title, and first since 1951. THE MATCHUP RESULTS Each of our historic matchups are simulated 15 times, with the winner of the series declared the overall winner. It turns out this SEC test for Florida State wasn't as dramatic as their Rose Bowl victory over Auburn. Here, the Seminoles started fast, and paced to a 11-4 series win (in games), with an average score of 36-22. Results of our Champions Tournament (Last Offseason):
Last Offseason we completed an entire 38-team tournament of Champions from the BCS era. Below are the links to last years bracket and results:
