In our 6th of 8 computer simulated games between the current champion
and other dominant champions of the BCS era, we have the 2008 Florida Gators taking on their in-state rivals. 2013 Florida State is fresh off their first loss (2005 Texas).
2008 GATORS In 2006, Urban Meyer brought Florida a National Championship; in 2007 Tim Tebow brought home the Heisman. The extremely high expectations caught up to the Gators in their early season loss to Ole Miss (31-30). But following Tebow's motivational speech, the Gators evolved into a dominant force. The defense: elite (allowed just 13 ppg). The offense: unstoppable. The Gators were playing so well that they were actually favored by 10 points over #1 Alabama in the SEC title game - and covered! UF continued the SEC streak of champions, defeating Oklahoma and Heisman Sam Bradford 24-14. How will they fare against this year's Heisman and his 2013 'Noles? MATCHUP RESULTS "Cheer for the Orange and Blue - waving forever - forever PRIDE OF OL' FLORIDA..." The 2008 Gators claimed the pride of the state of Florida in this one, sending 2013 FSU home with another loss. UF won the series 9 games to 6, by an average score of 33-29. In a battle of Heisman winners and elite defense, it was all Gator Chomp and no Tomahawk Chop. Next up, 2013 FSU takes on 2011 Alabama, one of our finalists in our previous Champions Tournament (bracket below). Results of our Champions Tournament (Last Offseason):
