2014 Season
The Interception Return for Touchdown (PICK SIX) is not just the Greatest Play in all of sports, but also the namesake of our website.  Each week we will honor the best PICK SIXES of the college football weekend, complete with a winner.  Our weekly award is named after the Pick Six Legend himself - Deion "Primetime" Sanders.

As College Football Saturdays unfold, and you see a Pick Six, tweet us @PickSixPreviews with the hashtag #PickSixNation

-  WEEK 7  -

There were 14 PICK SIXES in Division 1 Football this week, with two teams (Kentucky and UAB) housing two each.  UNC's Jeff Schoettmer joins the season leaders with his 2nd PICK SIX this season.  Another week and more Mississippi dominance, as both MS teams won again.  While #HailState may have the nation's #1 spot for now, the Rebels will have to settle with their #3 spot and a Deion Sanders Award via Pick Six Previews:
WEEK 7 PICK SIXES
Tyriq McCord, Miami FL
Zack Sanchez, Oklahoma
Desmond King, Iowa
Josh Forrest, Kentucky
Marcus McWilson, Kentucky
Jackson Porter, UMass
Lamarcus Farmer, UAB
Darius Williams, UAB
Darien Harris, Michigan State
Jeff Schoettmer, UNC

Marcus Mallet, TCU
Parrish Gaines, Navy
Matt Dobson, Georgia Southern
Cody Prewitt, Ole Miss

2014 SEASON LEADERS

Ishmael Adams, UCLA (2)
Richard Leonard, FIU (2)
Jeff Schoettmer, UNC (2)

WEEK 7 WINNER: CODY PREWITT, OLE MISS

Following last week's upset of #1 Alabama, Ole Miss traveled to #14 Texas A&M in the next series of the SEC West gauntlet.  Despite being Vegas underdogs, the Rebels proved the nation wrong again in a 35-20 beatdown of the Aggies.  The LandShark Defense scored twice to bring the lead to 35-7 in the 4th quarter.  But it was this 75-yard PICK SIX by their All-American and leader that set the tone for the Rebels:

-  WEEK 6  -

We knew going into this weekend that it would be season-defining, but I don't think anyone could have imagined the level of chaos we saw unfold before our eyes. There were 6 matchups of ranked teams, including 3 SEC West games, and an all-time doubleheader in the State of Mississippi. We knew that group of games would be top-notch; but further than that we saw FIVE unranked teams upset ranked foes.  When the dust finally settled, ELEVEN ranked teams fell, totally shifting the Top 25 rankings and playoff picture.  One of the defining moments (there were several) came in Fort Worth as #25 TCU knocked off #4 Oklahoma:
WEEK 6 PICK SIXES
Raekwon McMillan, Ohio State
Kendall Fuller, Virginia Tech
Paul Dawson, TCU
Devin Bowman, Georgia
Ricardo Singh, WKU
Max Valles, Virginia
Alvin Dupree, Kentucky
Tyler Gray, Boise State
Ian Seau, Nevada
Tevin Carter, Utah

2014 SEASON LEADERS:
Ishmael Adams, UCLA (2)
Richard Leonard, FIU (2)

WEEK 6 WINNER: PAUL DAWSON, TCU

The hometown Horned Frogs fought punch for punch with the #4 Oklahoma Sooners all the way through three quarters.  Then with the game tied at 31 in the early 4th, Paul Dawson made an incredible play, robbing Trevor Knight's pass at the line of scrimmage and took it 41 yards for what would be the game-winning PICK SIX:   (Play at 1:27)

-  WEEK 5  -

There were a season-high 18 PICK SIXES in Division 1 this week, the most since Week 2, 2013 (22).  Notable runner-ups: Anthony Walker (NW) who sealed the road win at Penn State, and Su'a Cravens, an All-American candidate making plays.
Ishmael Adams (UCLA) and Richard Leonard (FIU) became the only players with multiple PICK SIXES so far this season.
WEEK 5 PICK SIXES
Ishmael Adams, UCLA
Frankie Williams, Purdue
Anthony Walker, Northwestern
Darrius Smith, Vanderbilt
Jeremy Timpf, Army
Wonderful Terry, WKU
De'Vondre Campbell, Minnesota
Maurice Canady, Virginia
Richard Leonard, FIU
Demarkus Perkins, FIU
Tavon Young, Temple
Montell Garner, South Alabama
Cre'von LeBlanc
, FAU
Kendell Beckwith, LSU
Durrell Eskridge, Syracuse
Eric Rowe, Utah
Su'a Cravens, USC
Nigel Hawkins, Nevada

2014 SEASON LEADERS:
Ishmael Adams, UCLA (2)
Richard Leonard, FIU
(2)

WEEK 5 WINNER: ISHMAEL ADAMS, UCLA

In the only matchup of ranked teams this week, UCLA traveled to the desert for a Thursday night showdown with Arizona State. Backup QB Mike Bercovici was holding his own, and had ASU in scoring range about to tie the game before half. Then Ishmael Adams completely flipped the game for good.  95-yard PICK SIX here (at :26) and he also returned a kickoff 105 yards for another TD

-  WEEK 4  -

There were 12 Pick Sixes in Division 1 this weekend, the second highest total this season. Two teams housed two Pick Sixes: Duke and North Texas.
WEEK 4 PICK SIXES
Byron Jones, UConn
Paul Davis, Georgia Tech
William Likely, Maryland
Byron Fields, Duke
Joseph Ajeigbe, Duke
Sharif Finch, Temple
James Jones, North Texas
Zac Whitfield, North Texas
Gerod Hollman, Louisville
John Timu, Washington
Brison Williams, South Carolina
Kyrie Wilson, Fresno State

WEEK 4 WINNER: BYRON JONES, UCONN

On a rainy Friday night conference opener, USF was driving in for more points just before half.  Rodney Adams reached down for the pass but in the process, deflected the ball up in the air.  Then Byron Jones came out of nowhere to scoop it and house the PICK SIX - already a strong candidate for the overall season Deion Award.

-  WEEK 3  -

This week there were 9 PICK SIXES in Division 1 Football.  Wake Forest and Utah State had consecutive PICK SIXES in their 1st quarter (36-24 Utah State win).
WEEK 3 PICK SIXES
Donte Deayon, Boise State
Lamar Robbins, South Florida
Senquez Golson, Ole Miss
Shaq Thompson, Washington
Ashton Lampkin, Oklahoma State
Josh Banks, Wake Forest
Zach Vigil, Utah State
D'Joun Smith, FAU
Julian Wilson, Oklahoma

WEEK 3 WINNER: JULIAN WILSON, OKLAHOMA

With Tennessee about to cut the lead to a two-score game in the 4th, LB Jordan Evans reads the pass perfectly, and gets the assist here on Julian Wilson's 100-yard PICK SIX to seal yet another Bob Stoops victory against the SEC.

-  WEEK 2  -

After just 7 Pick Sixes on opening weekend, there were 17 this week.  Had Memphis held on for the upset over UCLA, Fritz Entienne would have taken home this week's Deion Award, but Hundley avoided that scenario.  Similarly, had McNeese State held on for the upset over Nebraska, Aaron Sam's 98-yard PICK SIX could have made a push.  Ameer Abdullah answered with yet another amazing play, helping Nebraska survive.
WEEK 2 PICK SIXES
Jalen Davis, Utah State
Geneo Grissom, Oklahoma
Taylor Barton, Illinois
Brandon Greer, Central Michigan
Jadar Johnson, Clemson
Preston Smith, Mississippi St
Rodney Butler, New Mexico State
Xavier Woods, Louisiana Tech
Fritz Entienne, Memphis
Brian Walker, North Carolina
Jalen Myrick, Minnesota
Quayshawn Nealy, Georgia Tech
Duke Donovan, Florida
Cliff Coleman, Ole Miss
Doug Middleton, Appalachian St
Richard Leonard, FIU
Donovan Riley, Virginia Tech

WEEK 2 WINNER: DONOVAN RILEY

With most of the nation focused on Notre Dame's beatdown of Michigan, another Big Ten power was knocked off in primetime.  In front of an Ohio Stadium record attendance, Frank Beamer's Hokies came in and controlled most of the game against then-#8 Ohio State.  With Braxton's replacement JT Barrett attempting to navigate a last-minute drive to tie the game, Donovan Riley was in the right place at the right time and housed it 63 yards to seal the upset:

-  WEEK 1  -

Usually on opening weekend, we see the highest number of PICK SIXES due to several factors including: more FCS opponents, more total games, young/new quarterbacks making their first start, etc.  Last season there were a total of 13 and 23 PICK SIXES in Division 1 Football in Weeks 1 and 2, respectively.  Week 1 2014 there were just 7, including two by the UCLA defense.
WEEK 1 PICK SIXES
Mitch Lane, UL-Monroe
Ishmael Adams, UCLA
Eric Kendricks, UCLA
Jermaine Whitehead, Auburn
Jeff Schoettmer, North Carolina
Demarco Cobbs, Texas
Nate Andrews, Florida State

WEEK 1 WINNER:  NATE ANDREWS,  FLORIDA STATE

On the national primetime stage, the defending champs began their "Dallas to Dallas" campaign.  With Oklahoma State's offense backed up in its own endzone, Nate Andrews pulled the pass down with one hand and raced 10 yards for the PICK SIX. Despite the close finish, Florida State got the "W" and that's all that matters.
